这几天的补丁可以说是特别多啊，除了Office之外，Windows 7自然也不例外，不过为一款Beta版系统发布补丁，可见微软严谨的作风。此更新主要针对Windows 7 Beta Build 7000上预装的IE 8 pre-RTW版本。不过微软同时确认Windows XP SP3和Vista SP1不受此漏洞影响。根据本月14日发布的微软安全公告，此补丁标记为MS09-014。
微软并未明确公布MS09-014补丁修复的漏洞数量，但根据惯例，微软只会对非正式版中的安全漏洞进行修复。微软还透露，除了被标记为“危急”等级的补丁之外，微软不会为Beta版的Windows 7发布其他任何更新。
同时，Windows Vista SP2 和Windows Server 2008 SP2中的IE也在此影响之列，微软也发布了相应补丁。
