据外媒报道，微软公司于近日发布消息称，现在,，美国国内已经有越来越多的学校开始部署Windows 8系统作为在教学过程中使用Windows 8系统。在使用Windows 8系统的同时，这些学校还将配合modern版的Office 2013以及Office 365套件。
消息之所以会选择Windows 8设备很大一部分原因是微软为它们提供了比iPad更加人性化、更有针对性的服务。
截止到目前以下这几所学校都已经开始使用Windows 8：Albemarle County Schools (弗吉尼亚州)、 Auburn City Schools (阿拉巴马州)、Clear Creek Independent School District (德州)、Laredo Independent School District (德州)、Leon County Schools (佛罗里达州)、Palmer Trinity School (佛罗里达州)、San Diego Unified School District (加州)、 Somers Central School District (纽约州), Springfield Public Schools (马萨诸塞州)、、Walnut Valley Unified School District (加州)、24所位于缅因州教育区的学校，其中有Scarborough School District、Brewer School Department、Maine School District #74、Maine School District #60，另外还有Atlanta Public Schools (乔治亚州)、Fresno Unified School District (加州)、San Antonio Independent School District (德州)。
